Forklift
is a powerful machine used to ease the movement of objects in
workplaces. It not only helps in saving time and efforts, but also
enhances the productivity. Forklifts are used widely in many workplaces
nowadays. In order to operate high power machinery like Forklift in
Australia, it is now compulsory to have a High Risk Work Licence.
Why do you need a Forklift Licence?
Given
the strength of Forklift machinery, it becomes absolutely necessary to
ensure the safety of employee at the workplace. Allowing inexperienced
staff to operate Forklifts is not at all recommended because of the high
risks of injury involved. Therefore a licence is required in order to
operate any Forklift. Forklift Licence training makes
the operator aware of the correct way of using Forklift. It helps the
operators identify various parts of the equipments and check them when
required. One must be 18 years or above in order to apply for the
licence training. The knowledge of written and Spoken English is
mandatory to carry out instructions during the course.
There are two types of Forklift which one can apply for:-
1) Forklift Licence LF Type
2) Forklift Licence LO Type
Forklift
LF Licence is required to operate Forklift with a pair of fork Arms
whereas Forklift Licence LO type is used to operate order picking truck
platform.
Before applying for the Licence,
you need to know which Forklift you are going to operate in future. Then
you should find a reliable training centre that helps you understand
the machinery and its subsequent operations. Knowledge of safety
loopholes is another requirement that one needs to learn in assessment
and training. After successful completion, the operator becomes eligible to handle Forklift at different workplaces. Reliable training ensures maximum safety and minimum injuries to other people.
